Sermon On The Mount - Part 10
The struggle with choosing the narrow path stems from our worship of convenience. We want microwave Christianity and a convenience store Jesus - all the benefits without paying the price. The wide road promises life but delivers destruction, causing us to miss the fullness of life God intended. However, the narrow road leads to zoe - quality life, deep fulfillment, and wholeness that comes from living out our God-given purpose.
Choosing the narrow gate daily requires following God's instruction manual found in Scripture and embracing the cost of discipleship. Like the apostle Paul, who found joy even in imprisonment, we discover that no act of service or moment of surrender is wasted in God's kingdom. Jesus declared He is the only way to the Father, making Christianity not just one religion among many, but faith in the person of Christ who is the only road to true life. Though the narrow path may not be easy, it leads to abundant life, purpose, joy, and intimate relationship with God.
