The Cross Changed Everything - Part 3

When Jesus died, multiple spiritual realities were accomplished simultaneously. Colossians explains that our sin debt was completely canceled, with every transgression nailed to the cross and marked paid in full. Satan and his forces were publicly defeated and stripped of their power to accuse believers. The temple veil tore from top to bottom, removing the separation between God and humanity that had existed since Eden. These events restored direct access to God through Jesus's blood, as described in Hebrews.

The cross also fundamentally transforms our relationship with worldly systems. Galatians teaches that through the cross, believers are crucified to the world and the world to them, creating freedom from cultural pressure, status seeking, and the need for human approval. This produces a new creation identity rooted in Christ rather than worldly achievements. Additionally, the vertical reconciliation with God enables horizontal reconciliation with others, empowering forgiveness and restored relationships. The cross provides eternal inspiration for worship, as Revelation shows the slain Lamb receiving eternal praise for His ultimate demonstration of love.
