What does it mean to belong when you feel overlooked, ordinary, or like you just do not quite fit? James the son of Alphaeus left behind no recorded speeches, no famous miracles, and no defining moments in Scripture. His name appears on a list four times, and that is nearly all we have. Simon the Zealot, on the other hand, carried a name that pointed to intense political passion, nationalistic fire, and a desire to overthrow Roman rule. Jesus chose both of them. That choice is not accidental.
