God has more for every believer than most of us have ever stepped into. Receiving the gospel and learning the basics of the faith are not finish lines; they are doorways into a lifetime of discovering God. Three key postures position us to receive what He has in store. Being teachable like Apollos, being hungry and thirsty like the twelve disciples in Ephesus, and being expectant rather than limited by past experience are the pathways into the deeper life God intends. Pride, complacency, and a tendency to box God into familiar patterns are the things that keep us in the shallows. God is always doing something new, and He invites every believer to step into deeper water with Him.
